Project Manager ( Java)

HRchannels client is a Japanese company. In line with the continuous expansion plan, HRchannels client is looking for capable and outstanding candidates to build a challenging career in the following position: Project Manager ( Java)
- Manages the Application project, or group of projects, across all phases of the project life cycle.
- Is responsible for analysing user requirements, defining user specifications and impacts on existing systems for FSD and Tech Specifications.
- Reviews and monitors risk mitigation and contingency plans.
- Conducts high level vendor management (negotiation, monitoring and planning).
- Ensure that all documentation, processes and methodologies used in the various phases of system development and implementation and production system support are in accordance with the Group’s standards.
- Coordinate and facilitate discussion with different levels of personnel ranging from development management, application team leaders and other external parties that my include vendors and with other teams.
- Able to lead and manage communications within the project and with other related parties like external vendors, business users, internal and external interface teams and other stakeholders.
- Is responsible for Quality Assurance and quality management.

- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in any field.
- At least 5 years worked extensively in the system development of banking systems. Good understanding of the SDLC with project management background.
- Good working knowledge of Unix platform.
- At least 3 years of experience in PL/SQL programming and Oracle DB.
- At least 3 years of experience in open platform technologies (i.e. Java, JSP, Servlets, J2EE, EJB, Linux, Apache Server and etc).
- Good experience in Websphere Application Server will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Unit Trust, Structure Notes and Bancassurance will be an added advantage.
- Good interpersonal skills, sales oriented, motivated and independent.
- Appreciation of quality and its importance in banking systems.
- Focused and willing to take on responsibilities and challenges.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Pleasant personality and able to work as a team player.
- Experience in a multinational environment and dealing with multi-countries’ users is desirable but not prerequisite.
